Transplant Manitoba Clinical Investigation Centre
ft3 provided prime consulting services for the Transplant Manitoba Clinical Investigation Centre (CIC), located at the Health Sciences Centre, on the third floor of the Kleysen Institute for Advanced Medicine.
The design intent covered a construction fit-up to consolidate transplant outpatient activity at the hospital. Specialized areas and support spaces include an outpatient clinic and administration space (office and meeting) for the transplant program's approximately 40 staff members.
The CIC will function as an outpatient experimental medicine environment to address current and future clinical research needs of transplantation services. A core tenant will be the Transplant Manitoba Adult Kidney Program that runs outpatient clinics five days a week. As more than 90% of all adult kidney transplant patients in Manitoba are enrolled in experimental protocols post-transplant, this tenant will provide the core resources to ensure the CIC's viability.
